BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
Mutle Mogase (Chairman)
Director Mutle Mogase has over 15 years of experience in lending and investing in middle-market and large companies. Mutle is currently Chairman of Vantage Capital Group, which he co-founded in January 2001. Apart from fulfi lling his responsibilities at Vantage Capital, Mutle was actively involved in the negotiation, drafting and implementing the Financial Sector Charter. Prior to starting Vantage Capital, Mutle was with Nedbank in their corporate banking division and then Absa for three years where he was responsible for starting Nubank. During this time, Mutle was also involved in the establishment of Real Africa Investments Limited (“RAIL”).
 
Ronnie Ntuli (CEO)
Ronnie is Chief Executive of Incwala Resources (Pty) Limited. He is also the founder and Chairman of the Thelo group of companies, which are independent investment companies. Ronnie is also Chairman of the NationalEmpowerment Fund (“NEF”), a multi-billion rand agency established by the government of the Republic of South Africa to promote and advance black economic empowerment (“BEE”) in the national economy. Before establishing Thelo Group, Ronnie founded and served as Chief Executive of Andisa Capital, an independent and diversified financial services group co-owned by Standard Bank. Ronnie also serves on a number of boards of public sector committees.
 
Albert Jamieson (Director)
 
 
Ufikile “Fix” Khumalo
Director Mr Khumalo holds a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town. He is a registered Professional Engineer and also completed Senior Executive Development Programme from Harvard Business School. Mr Khumalo has been employed by the IDC for the last six years and currently occupies a position of Executive Vice-President: Resources, Industrial and Utilities Division. Previously he worked for Nampak, Eskom and Sasol in the following respective capacities: Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager and Senior Engineer.
 
Dawn Marole
Director Dawn Marole is a BCom graduate from the University of Zululand. She also holds an MBA in marketing management and strategic management from Northeastern University, Boston Massachusetts, USA. Dawn chairs Dema Group and People Opposing Women Abuse and is founder and former president of the Business Women’s Association. She was previously Chairperson of Kumba Resources, Executive Director at African Bank Investments Limited (ABIL) and African Bank, deputy CEO of Fabcost Investment Holdings and the founder executive director of Thebe Healthcare.
 
Mahomed Seedat
Mahomed Seedat is President of Lonmin South Africa. Prior to joining Lonmin, he was with BHP Billiton where he was President of BHP Billiton’s Energy Customer Sector Group and a member of BHP Billiton’s Executive Committee. He was previously President and Chief Operating Officer of Ingwe Coal and prior to that President and Chief Operating Officer Aluminium Southern Africa with responsibility for the operation at Hillside and Bayside Aluminium Smelters in Richards Bay and the Mozal Aluminium Smelter in Maputo, Mozambique. His former roles in the Aluminium Customer Sector Group of BHP Billiton include Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager and General Manager of the Hillside Aluminium Smelter in Richards Bay. Prior to this he worked in the coal industry with Anglo Coal, where he held various positions at its collieries.
 
Kugan Thaver
Director Kugan Thaver is the Head of the Transportation, Financial Services and Other Strategic Business Unit of the IndustrialDevelopment Corporation (“IDC”) and has been with the organisation for over four years. In his role as Department Head he is responsible for overseeing staffi ng, completion of due diligence, co-ordination, structuring of transactions and monitoring of equity clients. He focuses mainly on acquisitions by BEE companies. Kugan holds a CA(SA).
